1. Make sure the cables are tight on the cable drums when the garage door is in the fully open position.
2. Make sure the door is balanced correctly, meaning when you place the door anywhere in the travel it should not drop or lift by itself.
3. Check to see that all the bolts or screws have been tightened correctly and that there is no odd movement on and of the panels, hinges or fastening brackets.
4. Check where the springs are mounted against the wall that the center bearing/spring mounting bracket is secure and not pulling out the wall.
These are some simple self diagnostic checks that one can do by your self to make sure you garage door repair has been done correctly by your garage door company.

Roll up garage door repair check:
1. You want to take a look at the guides which is mounted to the wall, that they are secured properly as well as the end plates. This is crucial as this is where the entire weight of the garage door is held.
2.Then you want to check that the tension has been set correctly, so when operating the door manually by hand put the garage door half way, and then you want to check the door stays in the position you left it, it should not pull up or fall down that garage door should stay in the middle.
3.When the garage door is rolled up to the top the roll should be tight and not make a bubble it must be rolled tightly together.
